Quinny A Grade Post Match report

Saturdays win was great for our group playing against a quality side who set up differently to other sides we have played this year forcing us to think and rely on our players ability to adjust.

We lost Wil Pap early Saturday morning through illness and we missed his presence.

The game see sawed all day and both teams at different times looked they could split it. Our last 10 minutes was great attacking then lock down footy full of disciplined tackling and support for one another.

As coaches and our loyal band of helpers and supporters who came out, we were very proud and impressed of the effort given to ensure we got a good 8 point win.

Harry Cummings, Sam Williams and Aaron Bergsma kicked 3 each and singles to Matty Jac, Orrs, Harmsy, Sam McGill and the sealer to Wattsy.

Our best were Adam Scholz solid in the first half but a great second half showed the way with Ben Toohey and Bergs good. Orry Cross and Bayless very good and Harry and Sam also continuing their form.

Our backline was solid again and welcomed in and blooded Tom Unger who in his first game showed he has got it and took a great mark at a crucial time in the last quarter. Well done Tom.

Well done to Mick and the Thirds on a great win and Rich in Granty’s absence had the B’s playing great footy to watch. This young group with a few old heads and bringing it together really well.

The U/18’s gutsed it out Sunday and was good to watch the part I saw. Wishing young Sarvi all the best after a terrible hit to the face in a collision.

Looking forward to SPOC this week.

Richies B grade Postmatch report

We ventured out to Salisbury North last Saturday looking forward to the game and building on the effort from the week before. We had a few changes to the team and also Brien Cheung coming in for his first B grade game of the season.

Quinnie briefly spoke to the group just before the game just about all teams playing to the same structure as the As which is a very good thing and his encouragement to the boys was fantastic.

Our start was good although a little bit fumbly but we were looking to move the ball quickly and also prepared to switch and take risks on the big oval, there wasnt much between us and them all day, our leaders in Laingy, Kouta and Fletty were very good in the way they played being positive and their encouragement to the younger players was first class. Troy Gray gave us some bite when he went on and Sam Webster in a Best On Ground performance across half back repeatedly repelled the ball with good delivery and decision making. Res and Thommo were good up forward with 3 and 2 goals respectively, Wardy was creative with his field kicking and Seb and Dan battled hard all day in the ruck. The last quarter we got to within a point but after that a few decisions went against us and we went down by 23 points.

I was very proud of the boys effort and endeavour and playing to our structures was excellent, if they bring that every week then we are all going in the same direction and the results will come.

Well done to the As and Cs for their great wins. Richie

Michaels C grade Postmatch report

This weekend we ventured down to Salisbury North to be treated to another fantastic day weather wise more like beach weather once again then footy  weather in late April.

Salisbury North have been struggling as we have so we were pumped up full of beans and ready to go to see what the day would bring and to see if we could start the day off well for the Phantoms.

We played the game full of running and really put the pressure on the scoreboard early J.Biagi was leading the way kicking some good goals and our skipper T.Garnaut really show his is a true leader of this team with a BOG performance

Other good player we're H.Sharp who is playing great football at centre half-forward, J.OBrien was great in the back line holding a back line together, big strong young C.Bahnisch was outstanding in his first game controlling The ruck we have a good future with this bloke.

We got the win put us back on the winning way 2 wins and 2 losses now so just need to continue to get out to training and work on the little one percenters and this team is really developing into a strong team to boost the b grade and a grade.

Bad luck to Richard in the B grade,  wish Granty all the best in recovery from his surgery, and well done to Qunnie in a hard tough win in the A grade.

Thanks also to Adam Hull for stepping up this week during my illness with the man flu

See you at the footy

Toosa's u18 Postmatch report

We played the top side in Flinders Park on our home deck on the weekend and went down by 5 goals, it was an entertaining game with plenty of highlights with some top work in the middle of the ground but not getting rewarded for our effort up forward.

Our back line where under plenty of pressure and they all stood up with Jack porter leading the way with his defensive work. On the wing we had Will Price{captain for the day} getting the ball and delivering it in front of players which we spoke about before the game, Jimmy Crouch{Nick} ran all day and got plenty of the ball never giving up and also it was great to see the new boys come out and play and get four quarters of football under there belt . There was a big clash of heads in the last quarter and Savi came  off with a suspected depressed check bone, he is having an operation on Wednesday many thanks to Carolyn  for going to the hospital and looking after him.

Another challenge this week playing Sacred Heart at PHOS 3pm come prepared and we will do well

Salisbury North Goss

Currently 5th with 1w 2L

Lost last 2 games to SPOC & Broadies, beat Unley in there first game.

Salisbury North finished 10th in Div 1 last year with 5w and 13L, this should of been enough to stay in Div 1 but had all there points wiped due to club indiscretions and thus demoted to Div 2. Fair to say The Hawks are keen to move on from 2017 have a successful 2018. This will be a huge test for the Phantoms playing on the large Salisbury North Oval.

Quinnys A grade Prematch report

Tomorrow we are off to Salisbury North for our first crack at it away which in itself is a good challenge to measure our abilities away from Camden. Salisbury North are a good side and we are after the challenge of going after them. Our boys are aware of their own footy, highlighting what we do well and what we can improve to keep building “our footy”. It’s great being around them.

All the best to Granty who is currently recovering from a planned Op and the way the boys trained last-night they will do you proud.

We have Matt Jac returning this week and coming in for Sam McCabe who has a sore spot that needs a couple of weeks.

All the best to Rich Resnais standing in for Granty and the Two’s and Mick and the C’s. We keep working what we are working and it will come. Either way we are proud of the effort so far.

Watched the U/18’s last week and Toosa and Tus are doing a good job and lets get another win this week.

See you Satdy, if you aren’t doing anything come out north.

Quinny.
