Hi PHANTOMS,

It’s time to get back on the track & run off all of the Xmas cheer that we have all enjoyed in the off season. The first training session is on this Sunday starting at 10.30am at Camden Oval so get your footy gear out of the moth balls & come out for a light run Training will go for approx. 1 hour & will be just a light run with ball work involved so we can ease into the season. After training there will be some drinks available, so hang around after for a drink & a chat under the trees before heading to Family Fun Day. Training will then be on every Tuesday & Thursday evening starting at 6.00pm & every second Sunday at 10.30am. At this stage training will be at Camden Oval until further notice.

We also have our Family Fun Day on this Sunday after training, starting at 2.00pm at Gooses place (9 Ross Street, Seaview Downs). Family fun day is for everyone so bring your wives, girlfriends & family along for a fun, relaxing afternoon/evening & it is a good chance for everyone to get to know each other. Goose has a swimming pool for the kids & anyone else that wants to have a swim. The tennis court will be out of action as it is being resurfaced so(Bernard, get me out of here & I’m busy counting my millions) leave your tennis racket etc. at home. As per usual the club will supply free Beer, Wine, Soft Drinks, Nibbles & Pizza’s.

If you are interested in playing in the 2018 BALI Carnival can you please let me know so I know how many players we have available. It is a great chance to escape the cold Adelaide winter weather in June & have a warm, relaxing & cheap holiday in Bali with your family & friends while playing a few games of footy. The Carnival is played over the June Long Weekend.

Below is some info that you can pass on to any team mates that might be interested to play in the 2018 BALI 9’s Masters Carnival.

Just a quick note to those that haven’t been before that you aren’t at the fantastic Canggu Club (where the games are played & there is a brand new water park next door for the kids) all day on the days when the games are played, you might only play 1 or 2 games each day (games are played in 2 x 10 minute halves) & they might both be in the morning or they both might be in the afternoon, so as soon as you have finished for the day you can head back to your resort & relax by the pool, go to the beach or go shopping or sightseeing with your family.

Give the BALI 9’s Masters Carnival some thought.

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

Can you please let me know a.s.a.p. if you are wanting to play in the Mini Carnival being organised by M.A.F’s S.A. on Sunday 7/5/17 at the Kenilworth Football Club Oval , Laura Ave, St. Mary’s. I need to know your age & your preferred playing position because the Mini Carnival is played in age groups the same as the national carnival format. The age groups are 35-40, 41-45, 46-50 & 51 & Over. Start times are yet to be determined, waiting to see how many players are interested in playing  to know how many games will be played on the day.

I am supposed to have our player list in to the organisers by today so can you please let me know a.s.a.p. if you want to play in the mini carnival so I can forward our list & they can organise the teams.

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

This week’s game is our first home game of the season & we are playing Henley on Saturday Night 22/4/17. The game start time is 6.30pm, so try to be there by 5.45pm so we are ready to start at 6.30pm. We will be wearing our White Guernsey’s this week being a night game so if you have your own please bring it with you & the club has a full set for those that don’t have their own.

The P.H.O.S.Camden Football Club have a triple header home game on Saturday against Athelstone as well, starting with the C grade at 10.30am followed by the B Grade at 12.30pm & then the A grade at 2.15pm so if you have a free afternoon come down to the club & support the boys.

This year the Over 35’s are going to be collecting money from any of our members that are at the ground on home games to give to one of the A grade players at presentations for B.O.G. or as a Coaches Award from the PHANTOMS Over 35’s to help spread the word that we exist. We would like to collectively give $100 as the award each home game. So I will give you a tap on the shoulder if you are watching the A grade on Saturday asking for a donation towards this award.

The footy club will be serving 3 different pasta dishes with crusty bread courtesy of The STRAND Restaurant, Glenelg, for dinner on Saturday night after our game. There will be a TV in a marquee outside of the club that will have the Crows v Gold Coast game on, so bring the family down & make a night of it.

See you all on Saturday Night.

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

The wait is almost over, there is just over a week until the 2017 season starts. If you haven’t been out to training yet don’t worry because you still have 2 training sessions next week to come & get a bit of run in your legs & get the lungs working.

Our first game this season is on the 9th of April at Flinders Park Football Club in a double header. The first game at 12.00pm is West’s v Henley & then our game is at 1.30pm Phantoms v Southern Jets.

All players need to register themselves on SportsTG (formerly called FOX Sporting Pulse) the same as last year, before the first game if possible for insurance purposes. If you don’t know how to register we will have a registration night next Thursday after training in the club rooms so come to training & register on the same night. I have put a link to Sporting Pulse Registration in an attachment if you want to go ahead & register or re-register yourself.

I have also put the Player Invoice for subs in the attachment for this season & there is a discount available if paid on or before the first game.

The P.H.O.S.Camden Football Clubs season starts tomorrow with the Phantoms v Unley Mercedes Jets in a triple header starting with the C grade at 10.30am followed by the B Grade at 12.30pm & then the A grade at 2.15pm so if you have a free afternoon come down to the club & support the boys.

The club still needs some volunteers to cook the BBQ from 11.30am until approx. 3.45pm so if anyone can help out for an hour or two the club would really appreciate the help.

HI Phantoms

This year’s XMAS in March function for all 2016 Full Financial Members is on Saturday 18th March at the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club (next to The Beach House) Glenelg from 7.00pm. If you paid your $150 membership in 2016, you & your partner are invited to this function. This year the Football Club will be buying you & your partner & Main meal each & will also be putting money on the bar for Beer, Wine, Sparkling & soft drinks for a few hours also.

If you weren’t fully financial last year you only have to pay the balance of what is owing from the $150 membership fee to be eligible to come along. If you aren’t sure if you were fully financial or not let me know & I will find out for you. I have a list of how much everyone owes from last year if they want to come to the XMAS in March show, you will only need to pay the outstanding balance to be eligible to attend. If you weren’t a financial member last year & would like to attend, the cost will be $65 per head.

Can you please let me know if you will be attending this function because I need to let the Surf Club know numbers for catering purposes by Wednesday 15/3/17.

There will be training this Sunday morning 5/3/17 from 10.30am for those that can make it.

Please see attachment for the 2017 AFL Masters Match Fixture so you can organise your weekends. The season kicks off on 9/4/17, that is only just over a month away, so try to get out to training on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 6.00pm for a bit of a run to get a bit of fitness into the old bodies & not so old bodies. Last year’s success came from being a bit fitter than most teams & being able to run out games.

See you all soon

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

This weeks game against Riverland is the middle game of a triple header. Our game starts at 12.30pm, so can you try to be at the ground by 11.45am so we are ready to start at 12.30pm. The first game is East’s v Pooraka & the last game is Kenilworth v Woodville South.

PLEASE NOTE the game is being played at the FOXFIELD OVAL, Maryvale Road, Athelstone & not the main oval that we usually play on.

Also, at the last delegates meeting it was mentioned by the umpires director that RACISM has been heard during a game (not by the Phantoms). M.A.F’s S.A. has said that Racism will not be tolerated & shouldn’t be tolerated, & players will be banned if caught saying inappropriate comments.

See you all on Sunday.

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

This week we have a home game under lights on Saturday Night against East’s on 2/5/15 starting at 7.00pm, Woodville South & Gawler are playing the early game starting at 5.30pm.

Can you get to the ground at 6.00pm so we are ready to start at 7.00pm thanks.

The club is putting on $15 Burger & Beer deals for the night & there will be other meals available on the night as well, so bring your families along & support the club by hanging around after the game & have a few beers with your team mates & the boys from East’s, Woodville South & Gawler.

Reminder

M.A.F’s S.A. are having a Dogs night at Angle Park on Thursday 28/5/15 & the cost is $30 per Adult & includes entry fee to the track & a smorgasbord dinner. Can you let me know if you want to go thanks.

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

This weeks game on Sunday 26/4/15 is at Pooraka Oval against South’s starting at 1.30pm, so try to be at Pooraka by 12.45pm so we are ready to start at 1.30pm.

We look like being a bit short on numbers this week compared to the first 2 games, so if you can possibly play this week it would be appreciated.

We also have a night game next Saturday 2/5/15, so that’s 2 games in 6 days. I will advise the starting time for the Saturday night game next week.

There are also a couple of other dates to put in your diary.

The Dogs night at Angle Park is on again this year & the date is Thursday night 28/5/15. The cost for the night is $30 per person which includes your entry to the track & a smorgasborg dinner, you can buy drinks from the bar. It is a good night to socialise with your team mates & players from other clubs.

The M.A.F’s S.A. is holding a Masquerade Ball on 8/8/15. The cost will be approx. $85 per person & you get a 3 course dinner & a 5 hour drinks package, band or DJ etc. The venue is the Findon Function Centre, Findon Rd. It would be good if the Phantoms could get a few tables for this event. It is a good chance to earn some brownie points with the wives & girlfriends by getting dressed up & taking them out for a fun night of socialising. The Phantoms have always had good numbers at the M.A.F’s shows that have been held previously, so let’s get together & show why we are the envy of all the other teams & why we are such a successful club on & off the field.

Can you let me know if you are interested in attending either or both of the above functions thanks.

See you all on Sunday.

Regards,

Conan

Hi PHANTOMS,

Please see below email & the attachments that are for an up coming edition this Thursday that has an article about the 2015 Phantoms Bali Masters Tour on the June long weekend.

We are still looking for another couple of players for Bali, so if you know anyone that might be interested let me know.

Hi PHANTOMS,

Thursday night is your last chance to impress the coach before the season kicks off this Sunday 29/3/15. We will be training at 6.00pm & it would be good to see as many players on the training track as possible before our first game.

We will be going in the Clubrooms for a few beers after training & the club also has meals available on Thursday nights if you are hungry.

Our first game is against Woodville South at Kenilworth Football Club, Laura Avenue, St. Mary’s (the old Panther Park) & we are the third game of a triple header & our game starts at 2.00pm. Try to be at the oval around 1.00-1.15pm so we are ready to start at 2.00pm.

I also have this years fixture cards, so see me on Thursday night or Sunday to get one so you will know where we are playing every fortnight & what time our games are.

We will also be going to a venue (yet to be decided) after the game for a few beers & to watch the final of the Cricket World Cup, hopefully Australia will be playing New Zealand. The cricket final starts at 2.00pm, the same time as our game starts.

See you all soon

Regards,

Conan.

Hi PHANTOMS,

I hope everyone had a good Christmas & New Year.

Hi PHANTOMS,

Training has started for this season, we are training at Camden oval on Tuesday & Thursday evenings at 6.00pm until approx.7.00pm & every second Sunday (22/2, 8/3 & 22/3) starting at 10.30am for about an hour until the season starts on 29/3/15.

We have a couple of beers after training on Tuesday evenings & we also have a BBQ & a couple of beers after training on Thursday evenings at the oval for anyone that wants to stick around for a while after training & have a chat.

If you know of anyone that wants to play over 35’s, bring them out & introduce them as we have had a couple of retirements at the end of last year, so we need to get a few new guys on the books for this season.

See you at training.

Regards,

Conan.

Hi everyone,

Stop Press (27/2/15): the over 35’s need 5 or 6 more players for the Bali 9’s Carnival in BALI on the June long weekend.

I have just had confirmation that the S.A.PHANTOM’S Football Club’s request for entering a team in the 2015 BALI 9”s Over 35”s Football Carnival to be held on Friday 5th & Saturday 6th of June (JUNE LONG WEEKEND) at the Canggu Club has been accepted.

The organisers have 24 teams entered (there is a maximum of 24 teams that they can accept for the competition) & more teams waiting for an entry spot, so we need to register our team as soon as possible to keep our spot.

Everyone that went last year will tell you how much fun they had, the football is only on 2 days (not even 2 full days), so that leaves a lot of time either side of the football carnival to have a cheap holiday in the warm weather with your wife/partner or family. If you book your air fares early you can get return flights for around $300 return & the price of accommodation is also cheap( I have been getting emails offering 3.5 & 4 star accommodation for $169-$199 for 7 nights) as is food, beer, shopping & everything else while you are in BALI.

There is a swimming pool at the Canggu Club & there is a brand new water park with water slides etc. right next to the Canggu Club.

Can you please advise me as soon as possible if you are interested in going, you don’t need to be 100% sure at this stage, but I need to know if you are interested so I have a bit of an idea on how many players we have. The PHANTOMS have the bye on the game after the June long weekend, so you can have a good holiday in Bali.

Regards,

Conan
