Quinnys A grade Postmatch report

Saturday was very much a lesson in a few areas from a team who rightly deserve top spot. After a really good start we succumb to too many errors a lot unforced. SPOC were good enough to capitalise and in all fairness had the game won in the third quarter.

We learn, we change and adjust and as said we will know more by 5 pm this Satdy.

Big positives out of the weekend were our C’s and B’s continuing to have a crack at playing our brand.

Our little money raiser for one of injured lads.

A great night Saturday in the club.

Goal kickers on Satdy were a spread but Wattsy kicking two as our multiple scorer. Playing his role really well and with Ben Toohey who again played well we have found two good A grade players within our own ranks.

Our best were led by Scholzy, playing great footy, Boof Braley terrific down back with Bergs good in the middle and Lochie Barreau giving us good work in tight. Matty Jac had some good moments and is developing really well in a new position. Michael Virgin showed some great stuff that he brings and Super proud of Dean Bonnici who played a great role which he learnt along the way.

What we do now is the important thing.

Grantys B grade Postmatch report

Once again we struck a highly drilled team in SPOC on Saturday and for all
but one quarter proved we have what it takes, we just need to do it for four
quarters.

Apart from the best, we had a number of players play there rolls well  and
did a job during the game. Finny, Wardy and Keegan  lead by Fletty kept the
ball in the forward line with desperation. Webby, Frangers and Teakle busted
their guts trying to keep SPOC at Bay with multiple entries into the
backline. Vass with his best game of the year was backed up by Unger, Kouta
Laing
who came in and out the game to give the team a bit of drive.
Well done to Jed on his first game and looks like he will get better as the
year progresses and he gets fitter and lastly young Jessie who came out of
his shell and hit the ball and player hard this week.

To Keegs, Crouchy and Blighty I hope your injuries are manageable and you
are back on the track as quickly as you can

Bad luck to the A's, B's and U18's I'm sure we will all bounce back this
week

Michaels C grade Postmatch report

We faced St Peters on Saturday expectations were high we really wanted to get off to a good hard start and have them on the back foot, that's exactly what we did the start was great the only low point was our goal kicking we missed easy shots.

The backline were strong all with D. Krieg, and J. Porter leading the way very good all day with the ball spending way to much time down there

C. Bahnisch is really working hard on his rucking he is giving us good contests and making I big present around the ground.

R. Taylor and Max Porter were good and hard all day as was our skipper Tate who just keep trying all day long.

Another great positive was the chance to speak to a number of our players Satdy night over a Perroni. We have a cracking bunch that want to get better.

We need to hit the training track hard work on our skills and do extra work away from the ground this team is not far away again from another win if we keep persisting and working on the little things.

Bad luck to the b grade and a grade we all need to work hard this week on the track

See you at the footy

Toosa u18 Postmatch report

Was probably our worst game for the year with SHOC s showing us how to play good football, there work rate and skills where way above ours and it showed on the score board. When we did have the ball we delivered it with some poor decisions making  giving the ball straight back them and making us pay. Aeden Lyon with Jack Porter held the back line together and never gave up.Pricey ,Ausie Forbes, Croucy and Saul worked hard around the ground and will get better playing together as the season goes on. It was pleasing to see Jessie and Jonesy playing under eighteens with the SANFL getting there chance and to see Savi come out to support the boys

Need a win next week boys so lets get on the training track

Last time we played SPOC: 2016 Round 10 we lost by 2 points at home, Gordo & Smythy kicked 3 goals each, Casey Beard was our best

Ladder: Currently equal 1st with 4w 0L

Last 4 games: wins against Old Iggies, Broadview, Unley and last week against undefeated Broadview.

SPOCs finished 9th in Div 1 last year with 3w and 15L, thus were demoted after just one year in Div 1. SPOCs have recruited well over the offseason and are flying in 2018, are undefeated and are winning by big margins.

Quinnys A grade Prematch report

Tomorrow we host SPOC for top spot in what should be a good game. I am certain both teams will be up for it and games of importance early in the season are great for our group.

Going out is Tom Unger after a very solid debut and has been put back to the two’s to accomodate a couple coming in. Sam McGill misses due to work interstate.

Returning to the side is Wil Papatolis who missed last week with illness. We welcome in to the side Michael Virgin who returns to PHOS after time in the SANFL with Glenelg and North Adelaide. We wish Virg all the best and great to have him with us.

All the best to Granty with the two’s and Mick with the C grade. Granty will be keen to coach the boys after a week off due to an op. Well done to Rich in Granty’s absence.

Toosa and Tus have their U/18’s playing really good footy and another win will come soon.

Saturday we have the opportunity to recognise Tom Finn on his 100th game. What a great player and clubman this bloke is and as well as that he is a great mate. A loyal player who does his best every week and a good heart as he genuinely cares for others. Well done to Tom and Bridie as Brides has been right along side all the way.

See you Satdy, Quinny

Grantys B grade Prematch report

The B grade host SPOC at Camden Oval tomorrow in which should be a competitive game given our steady improvement over the past few weeks and stable team going into the game.

We regain Tom Unger after his debut in the seniors and I’m sure he will want to keep his good form going and get back in as soon as possible. We have another debutant in Jed Regnier who comes into the side who has transferred over from Walkerville via Robe and we thank Jessie for bringing out to the Phantoms.

Great to see the C grade have a win last week so keep up the good work and looking forward to players getting a chance in the B grade in the coming weeks.

I know the A’s are keen to have top spot after this week so good luck to Quinny and the boys .

Also good luck to Toosa and Tus with the U18’s on Sunday
