Quinnys (A grade) Postgame Report
We certainly expected a good game Saturday and we got one. A one goal difference pretty much summed it up.
After a slow start by our guys we clawed back late in the first quarter after giving them a three goal start. We were making far too many mistakes against a good side and we discussed we can't do that. Not to take anything away from Old Iggies as they played well but our mistakes certainly assisted them.
There was some really good footy too and by half time scores were tied up and we were getting some flow going even though mistakes remained. We re-straightened at half time and produced an excellent third quarter kicking seven goals. They came at us in the last as good teams do and we took a hard fought one goal win.
We had a lot of players down with some perhaps having their quietest game for the year. The endeavor was there so the form will come back and I'm quietly pleased we showed Old Iggies nothing but got a real good look at them.
Goal kickers were Bergs with 4, Harry and Rama 3, singles to Smythy, Hilly, Mat Jac and Gordo 1 each.
Our best was clearly Bergs, mainly forward with really strong and busy captains game. Brent Van Gils for a clean game down back then through the mids. Finny for a real driving game out of the back lines. Big Orrs was dominant in the middle and Ryan Reavley who although made a couple of blues his courage and work rate was again on display. Nick Ramsey and Daniel Hill were very good along with Shawy and Ingo and Harry Young did a good job for us. Kris Evans endeavor and hardness was worthy of a mention too.
It's fair to say quite a lot of players were well down on their standard. It certainly happens but it's done now. We won a game we played average in against a good side. Every player has to address what they need to and get right for satdy V Plympton.
Badluck to Popey and the C's and what a great performance by Craig and the 2's. Must now back up this week.

Craigs (B grade) Postgame Report
Old Ignatians had something we wanted last Saturday, top spot and they weren't going to give it up without a fight. Luckily our boys came to play and took charge of the game early, dominating the first quarter but unfortunately we just couldn't convert it to the scoreboard missing some easy shots and going in at quarter time only a couple of goals up.
After the quarter time break we had a fight on our hands with Old Ignatians clawing back our lead and kicking consecutive goals without reply to gain a nine point lead until our boys showed great fight and wrestled back control of the game to go into the main break with a slight lead.
The second half was a bit of an arm wrestle which was expected from a quality side, going goal for goal for most of the rest of the game but to our boys credit they got the job done, getting the lead out to 22 points at one stage and eventually winning by 16 points.
We had another good spread of single goal kickers including Kouta, Wil Papatolis, Jake Resnais, Fletty, Mitch Molnar and Sam Williams while Tom Quinn led the goal kicking with two.
It was hard to split the top two players in our side on last Saturday as they both had very good games in different roles. Wil Papatolis was best on ground, getting plenty of the ball and creating a couple of goals while having taggers rotating off him all day and Rian Morgan had a job on one of the most dangerous and smart forwards in the Reserves competition and heavily reduced his influence on the game, beating him one on one all day while Sam Willcocks was third best sweeping off half back and finding some good form at the right time of the year. David Parkins' ruckwork around the ground has improved massively and is giving our mids first use of the ball and his work rate to get to the right positions is also giving him opportunities at goal while Lachie McDonald had a first half to remember giving us great drive from his wing and giving a couple of good marking attempts for the highlights reel but he unfortunately got injured just before half time but had already had a big enough influence on the game to set up our win.
This was another good four quarter effort from the B Grade against a quality opponent and a character building win, but what we must now do is focus on Plympton to secure what we have worked so hard to get.
Well done to the A Grade to get a win in a tough game and bad luck to the C's, I know you'll bounce back next week.

Quinnys (A grade) PREgame Report
Tomorrow we head to Old Ignatians for our biggest game of the year for both A and B grade. Craig and the B's have a chance to play for top spot against the current top side and are fielding a very good side with plenty to play for. The A grade have something to play for that we'll keep within the group at this stage and put ourselves to the test Satdy.
Going out of the side are Mitch Molnar and Glen Soper, both have been playing well and can go back and fine tune to put their name back in the mix. Coming in are Tom Clarke and Daniel Hill, two very good ins for us. When you Coach you see some times with players a steely resolve that says "play me" without them saying much at all. It's demeanour, self belief and strength of character and it was seen this week by me from both these two players.
We will need to work hard to beat Old Iggies, a side we respect and we are certainly looking forward to the challenge.

Our second to last minor round game for the year.
Coming off a good win against Mitcham this week we take on Old Ignations.
Last time we played old Iggies was round 8 and we had a tight 18 point win at our ground. Gamble & Hot Dogs kicked 3 each, Orry, Rama, BVG &, TC had good games.
Old Iggies are in 3rd position, with 9 wins & 4 losses & 1 draw (against then top side Athelstone), they have won there last 4 games including a 36 point win against G-Grove last week, there best win was against 4th placed Pembroke. Apart from our narrow loss to Athelstone, Old Iggies gave us our tightest battle for the year where we only shook them off in the last 1/4.
We will need to be at our best to beat Old Iggies at there home ground of which is in very good condition (unlike ours).

Craigs (B grade) PREgame Report
This week is a massive opportunity for our boys in the B Grade to grab top spot from Old Ignatians.
There has been a huge amount of work put in from the players over the course of the year to get themselves into this position and with a little help from Golden Grove last week we have now been given this chance against the top side who won’t give up their spot without a fight.
The boys have risen to challenges this year and there is no bigger one so far than Old Ignatians on their home deck, especially with them coming off a loss.
Only hard work and a four quarter effort will get us the desired result on Saturday and I know the boys are keen to give it their best shot and leave nothing in the tank at the final siren.
Mitch Molnar and Glen Soper come down from the A Grade this week and will give us plenty of bite around the ball while Tom Quinn and Kouta come back into the side after resting on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.
We have momentum and have done the hard work to earn this opportunity, so now we must grab it with both hands and not let go!
Best of luck to Simon and the A’s in another big game and to Popey’s C Grade in a tough game against Adelaide Uni.

Quinny A Grade Prematch Report
Let me start by saying what a tremendous effort by our U/18's under the teachings of Granty to make a prelim final on the first year back. It's the biggest highlight of our club and those young men have conducted themselves in a way we should all be very proud.
To Saturday and as suspected we came up against a very good committed Portland unit and the game was played accordingly. I was pleased with our guys who although gave away a start it looked like some things we wanted to happen happened. With neither side able to break away the teams stayed close before we kicked clear and threatened to kick further. However Portland in normal style hung in there and pushed a game played in great spirit to the end. 28 points in the end down there a solid effort.
Goal kickers were A host with ones and twos and Sam Williams, Rama, Jac and Gordo 2 with Harmsy our best player kicking 3.
Best players were plenty, Matty JAc, Rama, Gordo and Paddy Hamden were really good working on parts of their game and with Reavs full of courage on his wing, Brent Eddy and Casey Beard solid in defence. Ruwy busy on ball and Orry and Dogs excellent at CHF and in the ruck. Curtis Harms was our best player in a very good midfield role. Sam McGill showed he's up for A grade footy with a good first up effort.
Well done to Craig and the two's on a good win.
We look fwd to this week V Shocs. A team we respect and want to beat. We need all the support we can muster up satdy to support the players and say thanks to our great club sponsors.

Quinny A Grade Prematch Report
We travel to Portland to take on a team that although the ladder suggests they are second to bottom we see as a good side who play with spirit and certainly will be fighting to stay up in Div 2 and keen to knock us off.
We have players continuing to search for solid individual form and team form coming to the close of minor round footy. Suggests it will be a good game and just the test we need.
Going out is Bergs and Smythy with injury and trip away commitments.
Coming in is Lauchie Mcdonald who has been consistent all year in the two's and brings in a good utility player in to the side and Sam McGill for his first A grade game! No charity games here, the lads been made to earn it and will go well!

Craigs Post Match B grade Report
We had an eighty point win against Portland on Saturday and even with a scoreline like that we have a few things to work on and we are not going to let the side off the hook.
Turnovers must be addressed as we are coughing the ball up too often and it is hurting us on the scoreboard and will cost us dearly if we can't get it right.
We certainly didn't play the type of game we wanted but there were still a lot of positives like when we moved the ball quickly we looked very dangerous, we just needed to back ourselves and take more risks more often. Another positive was James Cadzow starting to find some form playing down back and also going forward and kicking 3 goals. Other goal kickers were Nick Walters, Jake Resnais and Kouta with 2 each and singles to Fletty, Pasty, Tooza, Sam Webster and Simon Brozel in his first game in 7 weeks.
Brodie Maitland and Brett Jolly were hard to split for best player as both played great attacking football down back, taking risks, running the ball and putting their bodies on the line all game while Nick Watts and Harry Walters were damaging around the stoppages getting plenty of touches and using the ball well in tight situations. Kouta was fifth best setting up a few goals by working hard when he didn't have the ball to get to the right spot and when he got the ball he made good decisions.
We now focus on SHOC who are fighting for top spot, a tough assignment but one that we welcome rolling into finals.
Great work to the A Grade who played some good footy against a determined Portland side who were fighting relegation and bad luck to Granty who has done a stellar job with the Under 18s and had a great year but couldn't quite get over Gaza in the Prelim. It looks like we have a good crop of senior footballers coming through next year, something the club can look forward to.

Craigs B Grade Prematch Report
This week we travel to Portland who gave us a scare in the first quarter last time we played and who will want to have a dip this week on their home ground.
We haven't quite been playing the sort of football we've wanted to over the past few weeks so we need to get back on track and play the style of footy we want to take into SHOC next week and ultimately finals.
Another 3 changes to the line up this week with Sam McGill and Lachie McDonald getting the call up to the A Grade and Rian Morgan being unavailable opens the door for Josh Green who is back from injury, Andy Simpson back from illness and Simon Brozel back from Europe.
We have an opportunity to play the game on our terms this week, we must make the most of it and play hard, tough footy for the entire game.
Good luck to Simon and the A's and Granty's Under 18 lads on Sunday in their Preliminary Final.

Congratulation Boys on a great year of football. Dont underestimate your performance in finishing third, as it is an unbelievable position to be in considering the side did not have one official training during the year and was thrown together each week with those who were available to play..well done
GAZA were to strong on the day and for us to of won needed everything to go right. We had a number of players who tried there guts out all day and Chris Brini and Liam Toohey lead the way. Sam McCabe and Elliot Dunkin showed they are class players and with Declan Josh Bayliss and Sam Davis gave us the best chance of winning if good eneough.
The Back line had its work cut out and I thought L McCabe Webster Bonnici Unger and Dunkin can hold there heads up high giving a contest at every entry.
The midfeild was put under exteme presure with a well drilled GAZA and Big Tom Gulliford had his hands full all day.
With a bench and rotations it gave us an option with Price Edwards and Booth to go hard and rest which we havent had before which worked quite well.
To have the luxury of a number of good backman in Resinas Bryce Crouch Cheung and Kohn meant players could rest and play an important part in trying to keep the opportition at bay...unfortunatly GAZA were up to the task.
With limited game time Big Hugh Porter Mensforth and Harvey did the best they could and contributed to the team when needed.

I have no doubt with our full list we can take this out...you should all be proud of your efforts so far.
We currently have 28 players on our list and the team can only take 25 into the game. Unfortunately we can not finalize the team until after Games on Saturday to see who is available so if players have missed out I will let you know as soon as possible.
To the Immanuel players I have spoken to David Crouch and he has spoken the Kevin Richardson today and if you could see (David) after the game and let him know how you have pulled up and if you are ok you have the all clear to play Sunday...

Quinny post-game:
A really good gutsed out win Saturday by the lads! That's the sort of desire we want to see and need every week. We are capable of it and we have been all year.
Anyways onto Saturday and I quite honestly say that everybody contributed! Scholzy, Simmo and Boof were solid along with Ingo and Shaz who returned in great nick from O.S and picked up where they left off. Benno and Harry were good up forward. Our best player was our skipper, Bergs, tough and persistent and his last quarter was inspirational. Dogs was good in the ruck and lifted when needed in the last. Teddy was really good across half forward and credit to him as i throw him around all over the place to help the team and that's what he did Saturday. Maisey and Smythy were great down back and a really good effort from Matty Jac who was crook leading into the game but battled through!
Special mention to Harmsy who settled and kicked the winning goal! This lad is every bit an A grade footballer and will get even better!
So we now set ourselves for Payneham NU the best performed team in the comp! It's our chance to play the best and beat them! Will be a good way to end the seasons minor round!
Quinny pre-game:
It's really important that we back up this week V PAC to consolidate some good form over the past two weeks. We must improve our use which has been a burden all year and reward our ability to win the footy. I'm comfortable saying we win the ball as well as anyone in the competition but until we slice teams with our skill execution we will not reach our potential! The boys are aware and will come with the right attitude to improve!
We lose Rian Morgan and Jake Resnais back to the two's, both showed some good signs and are simply replaced by Shazza and Ingo, two of our best players until they went away. Brent Van Gyls comes back to us and we welcome him and will do our best to help him play well. Simon Brozel returns and he will add some pace and energy. Going out of the side is Shawy (hamstring) a big loss to our backline and our direction and leadership! He's been outstanding this season and a pleasure to work with! The other player we lose is Tom Wallent, I personally asked Tom for an effort in the last quarter last week and he delivered and I dont forget that! Tom strained his hammy lastnight, a cruel blow as he looked great on the track.
So its equal bottom V 3rd, some might say we will struggle actually alot would but these are the games when you wake up satdy morning you think how lucky you are to test yourself for 2 hrs against a better performed team and show your club, your team mate and most importantly yourself what you are prepared to do to win!
I look forward to seeing what our blokes deliver!

PAC currently 3rd on the ladder 1 game behind Scotch & assured of the double chance being 4 games ahead of 4th placed Broadies.
There last 5 games: wins against SHOCs, SMOSH & Broadies, a loss to Scotch and a surprising loss to F-Park.
Last time we played PAC was round 9 we went down by 5 goals. Inaccuracy killed us kicking 6.15 to 12.7 or 21 shots to 20.
Some quality 'ins' this week, Somo Brozel back from injury will add some pace, Ingo & Schaz will add toughnesss to the backline & Van GIls is back from the GFC should add some class to the midfield.
Thanks to all the supporters who turned up in mass to last weeks game, the players & club really appreciated it. Why not come out again this weekend and watch some footy in the parklands or at the very least come next week to our last home game.

The boys in the B grade had a great start on Saturday kicking 3 out of the first 4 goals of the game against PAOC who were the ladder leaders and undefeated. Our ball movement was quick and we were playing an attacking brand of footy with players like Jake Resnais and Lachlan McDonald giving us plenty of drive around the ground which had our opposition second guessing themselves.
In the second quarter they had to change their structure to try and get on top of us and 15 minutes into it they kicked into gear and unfortunately we couldn’t go with them only scoring 1 goal in the final 3 quarters of the game.
Our backline again were tight, restricting their opponents effectiveness with Brent Eddy giving us some great runs from defence and Brodie Maitland showing courage on numerous occasions under constant fire after being moved to CHB. Mike Papatolis had his best game since coming back from injury as a floating defender and Jake Grosser managed to do a great stopping job on one of their most damaging players while Anthony Flett was the “General” of the defence again.
Our lack of ability to take it to the next level last Saturday when our opposition put their foot down really stood out and we must learn from this game that accountability and work rate are the things that will keep us in the game against the higher ranked sides. Again, we have the ability, we just need to work harder for each other when challenged and once we get this sorted out we can take it up to any team, starting with Payneham NU this week.
Finally, fantastic work from Simon and the A Grade to bring home a great final quarter to get the win, well done lads.

After a good win last week we need to re group and set our sights on the undefeated PAOC. They are a side that can carve up their opposition on the rebound with their run and spread so we must make sure that we hit our targets and work hard both ways for 4 quarters. Our ability to move the ball quickly with our run and carry will help us this week but we must emphasise the first give mentality or suffer the consequences. We have some handy inclusions this week including Rian Morgan and Rhys Turner to bolster our defence, Jake Resnais will give us plenty of bite in the middle with Jake Grosser and Lachlan McDonald back to increase our run from the wings. This week is a chance to cause a big upset and cement our spot in the finals and the only way to get the desired result is to play a full game of intense, hard running, team football. We have the ability, let's start believing we can do it!!
