Phantom Sipper - (Gold Fish Racing)

post race report:

On Saturday the 17th of May Phos Camden held the 2014 Phantom Slipper (goldfish racing).

It was a huge success once again with over 100 people attending to watch one of the greatest finishes in the races short history.

Taking out the grand final race and a large cash price was 'Fraser Vine' a up and coming junior Phos star. A big thank you to a number of the sponsors for sponsoring all 15 races. Phos was also able to raise over $1700 on the auctioning of the goldfish alone.

The fashions of the field was once again hotly contested with a slipt decision between the very beautiful Charlotte Stretch and the back to back 2013-2014 champion Luke May.

Once again a big thank you to everyone who helped make the Phantom Slipper 2014 successful, and we look forward to another big one in 2015.

pre-race:

The PHOS Camden Footy Club makes a return to the social limelight again after its huge success with PHOS Square. This Saturday night, we will be hosting the Phantom Slipper which has been labeled as the biggest race meet on the SAJC calendar, involving goldfish (yep, goldfish).

If you haven’t been involved with a night like this before, basically we auction off goldfish to the highest bidders, and then you, YES YOU get to race the goldfish in our custom built tanks.
The auction will start at 8pm sharp, so dont be late if you want to secure a racer!
So whether you want the individual glory of buying the winner, or you'd prefer to form a syndicate, come down to the Phantom Cave, deep in the purple sea of Camden Park, and race yourself your favourite Nemo.

Researchers have spent weeks studying each athletes personality, and we guarantee you that these goldfish will swim themselves right into your heart. Refer to form guide***

If your goldfish is lucky enough to win the competition, then you as owners will win a healthy % of the pot! Last year’s winners won themselves a cash prize of $250!

The overall winners will also be treated to the Phantom VIP Winners Lounge (with a complimentary bottle of sparkling and your very own couch, nightclub rope, and topless waiters/ waitresses (well maybe not the waitresses), for the remainder of the night.

But don't worry if racing's not for you just come down, have a drink, and cheer on the little fellas.
There will be drink specials all night!
Entertainment will be provided all night including a hotly anticipated return of fashion of the field event which was last year was take out by a fishy character by the name of Lukey May. Who will win this year? C’mon women this is your year to reclaim the title!!!

The final race will conclude by 10:30 so if you’re someone wanting to head out after then it’s perfect to come down for a laugh and drink before hitting up town.
Make sure you invite all your friends and family to come down for what promises to be a great night.
